St. John’s, NL— Signal Hill’s front man Jason Campbell announces the release of his solo album, Missing Signals, out March 3, 2015. As his 9th album, Campbell has a career that spans genres, from hard rock to pop jazz. Originally from Newfoundland, Campbell made his name performing as the lead singer with Signal Hill at the Lower Deck in Halifax since 1998.
Recorded by Cory Tetford at CTM in Dartmouth, who co-produced with Campbell, Missing Signals is a 12-track collection of original songs. Catchy, slick and powerful, Campbell teamed up with some of Atlantic Canada’s finest musicians including Cory Tetford, Kris McFarlane, Chris Mitchell, Dean Parks, Chris Ledrew and Blue Engine String Quartet to create his panoramic solo vista.
“The idea behind Missing Signals was to bring in as many new creative players as possible. First we brought in Kris MacFarlane on drums,” says Campbell. “At the Sonic Temple in Halifax, I had one of my largest recordings of my career so far, we brought in the Blue Engine String Quartet – featuring members of Symphony Nova Scotia, and the horn section from Halifax’s R&B band The Mellotones.”
Campbell releases his multi-instrumental sonic kaleidoscope Missing Signals at Casino Nova Scotia’s Schooner Showroom on May 1. All proceeds from the show will go to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. Eddie Cummings opens the evening with a solo performance. Later, Campbell will be joined by special guest musicians: Kim Dunn, Rick Waychesko, Chris Mitchell, Danny Martin & Blue Engine String Quartet.
Sponsored by Long & McQuade and Talent Source Entertainment, tickets are $20 + HST + $4 Ticket Atlantic Fee. Opener: Eddie Cummings / solo acoustic. Doors 7:15PM. Show 8:00PM.
Missing Signals is available at fine record stores across Atlantic Canada including Taz Records, Obsolete Records & HMV. The digital version can be found on over 75 music sites via Tunecore.com including iTunes and Google Play Music. Order Missing Signals online.
